Configuring You FTP Client Connection Limits Print

It is recommended that your limit the number of connections your FTP client makes to our FTP servers.

Too many connections can result in our Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) being activated and blocking further access to the Farbyte infrastructure.

FileZilla

  1. Open FileZilla
  2. Click File -> Site Manager
  3. Under My Sites choose the FTP site
  4. Select the Transfer Settings tab
  5. Tick Enable number of simultaneous connections
  6. In Max number of connections enter a number between 1 and 5

WinSCP

  1. Start WinSCP
  2. Go to the Preferences section
  3. Click the Preferences button Other general options
  4. Click Transfer -> Background
  5. Enter a number between 1 and 5 for the Maximal number of transfers at the same time setting

FireFTP

  1. Open the FireFTP plugin interface in your browser (e.g. Firefox -> Web Developer -> FireFTP)
  2. Click Tools -> Options
  3. Go to the Connections section
  4. Enter a number between 1 and 5 for the Max. simultaneous transfer (1-10) setting

SmartFTP

  1. Open SmartFTP
  2. Click Tools -> Settings
  3. Go to the Queue section
  4. Enter a number between 1 and 5 for the Numbers of Workers setting
